I don't always get the chance to post up a sample from the weddings I shoot, so here's a bunch that I like.

Awhile back, Eric asked me for some ideas for questions, and I was happy to give some input.  He used some of my questions and it's a great interview.  Read it here.

WPJA Award Winner {Wedding}

I'm a member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association and just found out two of my images from this year have placed in the awards.  I'm psyched about it because there are a ton of talented wedding photographers who enter these contests and it's an honor to place, especially with two images.

I grabbed two frames as this moment happened, this image and another where there is no separation between the bride and her son.  I really like this one because with the space between them, you can really see the expression on each face and you feel a bit of anticipation for the kiss.

This image is one I really like.  Kind of weird to like a picture of a cake I guess, but I do.  I think it kind of has a Martha Stewart Magazine look to it.

burn magazine {Link}

Todays link is burn.  It's an online photo magazine created and edited by Magnum photographer David Alen Harvey with Anton Kusters as creative director.  It's probably best described by the people that actually run it, so here is the description in their own words.

"burn is an evolving journal for emerging photographers. burn was launched as an online magazine/journal on December 21, 2008, and is curated by Magnum photographer David Alan Harvey. We publish new stories or singles at least three times per week."

Photojournalism is really what got me interested in photography in the first place.  I wanted to be a war photographer.  A photographer taking pictures of events and people whose stories needed to be told.  It also seemed pretty exciting and rewarding, I mean have you seen War Photographer?  James Nachtwey is a true inspiration and one of my photographic heros. 

Anyway, I still love a good photo story, and burn has that in heaps.  It's a fantastic site to look around and get lost in the images.  Take a look around and remember how important photography can be.
