Nicole+Frank {Wedding}

Nicole and Frank were married at Christ Church in Lincoln, RI and held their ceremony at the Radisson Hotel in Warwick.  In between, we stopped off at the the State Capital building in Providence for their formal photos.  We were racing an incoming rain storm but Nicole, Frank and their families braved a few raindrops.  Here are a few of my favorite images from the day.  Congrats again Frank and Nicole.

*Photographers note: no flash allowed in church, high ISO on the D700.

Judy+Bill {Wedding}

Judy and Bill were married at the Lighthouse Inn located on Cape Cod.  The ceremony was scheduled to be held outside by the water but a heavy rain storm pushed the festivities inside.  Bill and Judy took the change in stride and everyone had a great time.

Here are a few of my favorite images from the day.

Capturing the Dramatic Moment with Tyler Stableford {Inspiration}

Tuesday night I attended a fantastic presentation by adventure photographer Tyler Stableford.  The event was put on by the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP) New England Chapter and the Commercial Industrial Photographers of New England (CIPNE).  Hosting the festivities was photo store/studio EP Levine.  Tyler is a Canon sponsored, "Explorer of Light" and also shoots for Getty Images.

Tyler showed some of his work and explained his philosophy and some technical aspects from some of his shoots.  Tyler came across as a very considerate and passionate photographer who is deeply committed to creating images that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also that tell a story and communicate to the viewer in a powerful way.

He also premiered a new short film on a para-olympic skier that was very moving.  The film is a documentary on an Iraqi Army Ranger that lost both legs in an explosion, and just four years later, was competing against world-class talent as a skier.  Incredible stuff for sure.

You can keep up to date with Tyler's work at his blog.
